Specialist Areas – Professional Focus
I am an experienced and dedicated primary school teacher with a passion for helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. I have extensive experience teaching across the primary age range, delivering engaging, personalised lessons that meet each child’s individual needs and learning style.
My specialist areas include English, mathematics, phonics, reading, writing, and supporting pupils to prepare for SATs. I focus on building strong foundations while making learning enjoyable, helping children achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
I also have significant experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with autism and ADHD. I understand the importance of adapting teaching approaches to suit different learning profiles, using patience, clear routines, and practical strategies to help pupils feel comfortable, motivated, and successful. I work closely with children to build their confidence, reduce anxiety around learning, and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
I believe every child can succeed with the right support and encouragement. My lessons are tailored to each learner’s strengths, interests, and goals, creating a positive and nurturing environment where they can thrive. Whether your child needs extra support to close learning gaps, boost confidence, or stretch and challenge their abilities, I am committed to helping them make meaningful progress and enjoy learning.
I pride myself on building positive relationships with both pupils and parents, ensuring open communication and a collaborative approach to achieving the best outcomes.
About Jenny
For the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of working as a primary school teacher, supporting children to develop academically while building their confidence, resilience, and enjoyment of learning. Throughout my career, I have taught across the primary age range and understand that every child learns differently. I am passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate their progress.
Alongside my classroom experience, I have spent the last 18 months working as a private tutor, including providing specialist support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with autism and ADHD. This has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles, ensuring every child can access learning in a way that works for them.
I believe that successful tutoring is about more than improving academic results. It is about building confidence, encouraging independence, and helping children develop a positive attitude towards learning. I tailor every lesson to the individual, identifying their strengths as well as the areas where they need extra support, and use engaging, practical approaches to keep learning enjoyable.
Whether your child needs help closing learning gaps, preparing for SATs, developing literacy or numeracy skills, or simply gaining confidence in the classroom, I am committed to helping them achieve their goals. I value strong communication with parents and work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the encouragement and support they need to succeed.
