Specialist Areas – Professional Focus
I specialise in Business Studies, from GCSE through to degree level, drawing on my own studies (BBA and an ongoing MSc in Global Business Management) alongside hands-on commercial experience. I can support students across the full range of core business topics, including marketing and branding, sales and business development, purchasing and procurement, and the basics of accounting and financial literacy.
Beyond the syllabus, I bring real-world context from working in sales, export, and marketing roles, helping students connect textbook theory to how businesses actually operate — from shaping a brand’s positioning to running a sales process from first contact to close. I explain concepts clearly, adapt my approach to different learning styles, and place a strong emphasis on communication skills, since being able to present and articulate ideas confidently is just as important as understanding them on paper.
I also bring practical content creation and video editing skills, which I can use to help students build engaging coursework presentations, case study videos, or portfolio pieces where a visual or creative element adds real value.
About Jhilkumar
Outside of tutoring, I try to stay active and keep a good balance between work and life. I’m a keen runner and hiker, and I love traveling whenever I get the chance — exploring new places always gives me a fresh perspective, which I think helps in business too. I used to play football regularly and, while I don’t play as much these days, I still love watching a good match.
I have a real passion for business in general — it’s not just something I studied, it’s something I genuinely enjoy thinking about and doing. Whether it’s spotting a good opportunity, understanding what makes a brand work, or just talking through how a company could do things better, it’s a topic I could happily discuss for hours.
I’m also into fashion and enjoy putting outfits together, though I have a particular skill for finding stylish pieces at genuinely affordable prices rather than overspending — something I think reflects how I approach business too: getting real value without unnecessary cost. When I’m not out and about, I enjoy cooking, which is a nice way for me to relax and unwind.
I think these interests — staying active, travelling, business, and an eye for style and value — all feed into how I tutor. I like bringing energy and a practical, real-world perspective to lessons, rather than just sticking to the textbook.
