Specialist Areas – Professional Focus

I am a qualified teacher with more than seven years of experience, specialising in Economics and Business at GCSE, iGCSE and A Level. I currently offer online tutoring in both subjects and have experience teaching the OCR A Level Economics syllabus and Edexcel iGCSE courses.

My tutoring focuses strongly on exam preparation, revision and practical exam practice. I support students in strengthening their subject knowledge, developing effective examination techniques and overcoming the final hurdles that may be preventing them from achieving higher grades. I have successfully helped students improve from B grades to A* and from E grades to C.

I have worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including international students and learners for whom English is an additional language. This experience has helped me adapt my teaching effectively to different learning and language needs while creating a supportive educational environment.

My specialist experience also includes supporting students with SEND. I have helped establish SEND provision and developed early-intervention strategies to support students while they awaited assessments. Alongside classroom teaching, I have led enterprise activities designed to encourage entrepreneurial thinking and provide students with practical business experience.
